The fully automated terminal of Qingdao
Port has set up the world record of loading and unloading efficiency
On the morning of December 3rd, in the
fully automated terminal working site of Qingdao Port, Grossolevich, the
captain of “ZIM Chicago” vessel, handed over solemnly the confirmation letter
saying “the average efficiency per bridge crane in Qingdao Port is 39.6 natural
containers per hour”to Zhang Liangang, the general manager of the wharf said
with excitement: “Qingdao Port has created a world miracle in the container
terminal field and all the world should be proud of China.”
During the loading and unloading operation
of 1,785 natural containers on the same day, the average operation efficiency
per bridge crane in the fully automated container terminal of Qingdao Port
reached 39.6 natural containers per hour, creating the highest record of the
average efficiency per bridge crane in global automated container terminals and
surpassing in overall aspects the manual operation efficiency. Currently, the
average efficiency of the fully automated terminal of Qingdao Port, under normal
circumstances, has exceeded 30 natural containers per hour, continuously and
steadily 50% higher than the global efficiency.
On May 11th, the globally leading fully
automated container terminal of Qingdao Port, the first one in Asia, was put
into operation. In the past 7 months’operation, the “Qingdao
Model”characterized by low cost, short cycle, higher starting point, complete
intelligence, high efficiency, more safety, and zero emission has attracted a
